At the age of 4, my career as a self-taught artist began with the instruction of my father, some crayons, and the indelible victory of a Tulsa Zoo coloring contest.. from there, my obsession with doodling dinosaurs and deep sea life eventually morphed into a serious love for drawing first amphibians, and then wolves. My first completely serious effort at a coherent drawing was in 2004, at the age of 15. It turned out to the first time I had spiritual feelings involving art, and you can actually see it here. I can still remember the profound sense of loneliness and longing that sparked my serious dive into art as religion. The divine inspiration flowing through me like a gift to form a vision from my darkest emotions had me right then and there.
From 2004 on to this day, the spiritual experience of creation has consumed me, held me, taught me, and guided me through all of my darkest experiences in a fiery spiral of transformation. In 2008, a few synchronicities and the completion of High School unlocked the serious groundwork for my style and intention, and in 2011 I had my first live painting experience at Wakarusa- a rite of passage into something truly beautiful.
Initially, performance art was a fun experiment- a way to rid myself of overwhelming social anxiety by providing others with a bonding medium that just happens to be my life's passion. It didn't take long to realize I had been completely and irreversibly suckered into something much more exhilarating, profound, and infinitely complicated. The challenges of bringing sacred space from the studio and out into the midst of thousands of people is indeed a very transformative and rewarding experience; rife with synchronicity and raw, fated connections.
Subtle archetypal work at the subconscious level, combining animal wisdom and color healing frequencies with intention in an alchemical structure is the foundation of all my performance works. Crafting a strange loop; a sensual dance with the fabric of existence, inviting you to come out and play. It is divine alchemy.. granting simultaneously and second-by-second, a blazing window to the soul, to God.. to all of creation.
Art has taught me lessons innumerable, but by far the most important is to live the life you've been given selflessly and to the fullest, every second.. To pursue your dreams, and through your perseverance and love, inspire others to do the same. We are all ONE heARTspace! ॐ
